Welcome
to the official Birel S.p.A. website. In the name of Birel philosophy,
which has always been targeted to customer service and technology,
we have created a karting portal: the focus is on products,
debates with engineers and drivers, reviews of tracks and information
on the key issues of our sport. Birel is leader on the web,
too. |

Races
have always been of fundamental importance in the karting
world. We have established a completely autonomous in-house
structure to manage this activity: Birel Motorsport. I
have personally handled the current organization of the
Racing Department, seeking to create a dynamic, motivated
structure consistent with the company’s expectations.
All employees who work on the track for Birel Motorsport
have an extremely important task. In fact, one of the
structure’s missions is developing and testing new frames
and accessories. Only a track test can give us all the
guarantees we need before we begin producing a new frame
or accessory. But Birel Motorsport is also an important
way for the company to enhance its image. Competing with
the most qualified competitors in the most important championships
is a cornerstone of our advertising policies. Another
added value that participation in competitions guarantees
us is the opportunity to directly assist customers who
compete in international races. This service underscores
the solidity of the company, which offers customers direct
assistance and fundamental after sales support.

PARTNERS
During the 2002 athletic season, an important pool of
sponsors entered the field with the Birel Motorsport
Team. Along with confirmed well-known sponsors like
Beta, Arai, Denso and Mir, who have actively supported
the team for many seasons, since last season Birel go-karts
have also begun to sport the prestigious Shell logo.
The oil giant planned its entry into karting alongside
the Lissone headquarters, reaching a detailed agreement
aimed at developing special products for go-karts. Already
a partner of Ferrari and Ducati, Shell has remained
faithful to its philosophy of supporting Italian companies
that are successful in their fields.

THE
STRUCTURE OF THE RACING DEPARTMENT
The
structure has a staff of about 15 employees and is in
charge of managing the company’s official presence in
sporting activities. It is coordinated by Ronni Sala,
while starting next season the Athletic Director will
be Gianluca Beggio. After retiring from racing, the multi-time
champion starts on a new professional experience. Technical
management is entrusted to Simone Fumagalli, who supervises
a pool of first class technicians, while Francesco Bozzano
is in charge of Research and Development. During the 2002
season, the new weighbridge made its debut on the tracks:
with all the most modern equipment, it is fully equipped
to handle tests and races, acting as a truly mobile Racing
Department. |
