Welcome to the official Birel S.p.A. website. In the name of Birel philosophy, which has always been targeted to customer service and technology, we have created a karting portal: the focus is on products, debates with engineers and drivers, reviews of tracks and information on the key issues of our sport. Birel is leader on the web, too.

125 Super ICC-World Cup
Dirks win

The 125 category found an event of worldwide stature with the World Cup in Carole. The course is an anomaly among traditional kart tracks: long straight sections make the game of slipstreaming fundamental and the race is always contested to the very last lap. And even the finale of the World Cup was no exception. For the entire race there were the two Birel drivers, Laudato and Gandolfi, together with Cesetti, Forè and Manetti in the lead. Even Robert Dirks and Ammermuller managed to remain in their wake, while more detached, in 7th and 8th place, there were Renaudie and Elkmann from team Solgat. Forè and Cesetti began the last lap in the lead, with Laudato on their heels ready to exploit the slipstream in the last fast section.

However, to complicate the situation Manetti and Gandolfi inserted themselves with a last-minute break that forced the three leaders to make room even for Dirks. But the race still wasn’t over: Gandolfi made a last ditch attempt and attacked Manetti. The two came into contact and while Manetti was forced to withdraw, the skirmish rewarded Dirks, who took the lead and won the World Cup. The 2nd and 3rd steps on the podium went to Forè and Cesetti, while Gandolfi finished 4th preceding his teammate Laudato.
