Birel S.p.A. is divided into various departments and is one of the most organised companies in the sector. The Research & Development Department is the heart of the company. R&D employs CAD-CAM tools for designing and co-ordinates the activity of extremely modern external structures, specialised in researching new materials and components. Birel products have always been distinguished by extremely high quality standards, obtained thanks to manic attention to perfection and care for details, both in design and in production. The production line is capable of manufacturing over 500 chassis a month and employs 30 members of staff in total. Materials are prepared for shipping in a storage area that covers over 2000 square metres. The Birel S.p.A. Administrative Department employs approximately ten people and also takes care of the main accounting needs of the connected companies. The racing team became independent in 1990 and was turned into Birel Motorsport in 1995 to be even more dynamic and organised.

Birel Sudam focuses on Brazil and Argentina, while Birel Pacific represents the company in Japan and the Far East. Marketing strategies and communications, including racing activities, are managed by Birel Service, an organisation working in full harmony with Birel S.p.A. Freeline products, the Birel brand which is leader in the major kart accessory market, are made in the Lissone plants, in addition to kart chassis. The Freeline range includes rims, pods and brake systems. Thousands of items are made each year.
