The
2001 season was faced with two teams. The first boasted
the presence of the five times world champion Gianluca
Beggio and the young Alessandro Bonetti, from the 100
ICA class. The second team starred the talented Japanese
driver Hiroshi Humegaki and karting promise Marco Ardigò.

One
experienced driver and one younger driver was the policy
for the season which was around the corner. What was more,
the presence of a Japanese driver was particularly strategic
for the Asian market covered by Birel Pacific. The racing
department also provided technical management support
to three junior teams, supplying experimental material
for all categories. The information provided by the activities
of Cicconetti Racing, MGM Racing and Savani Competition
were fundamental for standard production.

Relationships
with related teams were crucial for being present in all
classes and in the major national and international championships,
in addition to offering the possibility to option a higher
number of emerging drivers. This policy ensured a strategic
breeding ground for Birel Motorsport, with drivers signed
up as early as the 100 Junior class. |
