SUPER ICC – ICC EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
GANDOLFI AND LAUDATO IMMEDIATELY AT THE TOP
Thanks
to his 4th position in round 1 and to his victory in
round 2 Gandolfi shares the leadership in the Championship
with Manetti. Laudato obtains a very positive result
as well, getting two placings on the podium. Manuel
Cozzaglio, competing with Birel-Pavesi, wins twice in
the Icc.
The European Championship for the 125 category (Icc
and Sicc) has started in the best way for Birel colours.
Ennio Gandolfi, official driver of Birel Motorsport
and competing with Laudato in the Super Icc category,
gains his pole position for round 1. However he doesn’t
sprint very well and finally he comes in only 5th. Before
approaching the chequered flag he succeeds in recovering
one position, gaining 13 points. Laudato has a better
performance and, sprinting from the 5th position, he
comes close to the winner Manetti and gains 20 points
for the Championship. Cesetti comes in 3rd, Ammermuller
places himself in the 5th position, while other two
Birel drivers, Elkmann and Viani, place themselves respectively
in the 6th position and in the 7th position. Foré
comes in 8th, preceding the Icc champion in office Dirks.
The driver of Lm Birel team makes a very good performance,
taking under control the attacks of expert drivers such
as Sferrella and Rytterbris. In round 2 of the Super
Icc category Laudato is immediately leading and shortly
he succeeds in outdistancing Manetti. Cesetti places
himself in the 3rd position and after the first laps
he is leading as well. In the meantime also Gandofi
recovers very well from the 4th position and finally
he is the winner of the race, preceding Cesetti and
Laudato. Manetti places himself in the 4th position,
preceding Ammermuller and Sferrella. After the first
round of the Championship there are two pairs at the
top: Gandolfi and Manetti share the 1st position, while
Laudato and Cesetti place themselves together in the
2nd position. In the Icc category the leadership of
Birel is more evident: Cozzaglio (Birel-Pavesi) wins
both races, preceding first Colombo and Bleek in round
1, and then also Colombi and Fumi in round 2.
