FREE LINE NEW SUCTION SILENCER

FREE LINE PRESENTS THE NEW SUCTION SILENCER MANUFACTURED ACCORDING TO THE 2004 CIK-FIA PROVISIONS.

Cik-Fia has arranged some new regulations regarding suction silencers that from this season have provided for stricter parameters as far as noisiness is concerned and so, following these provisons, Free Line has designed a technologically state-of-the-art new product. The project has been developed analyzing the possible solutions in order to optimize the performance according to the new regulations and, to this purpose, the most effective solutions have been identified through advanced fluid mechanics studies. The project, carried out by means of a 3D programme, has lead to the realization of some prototypes used for trials carried out both at the test-bed and on the racing-track in order to improve their performance. And finally, to meet the requirements concerning the noisiness, the product has been subjected to specific tests at the Research Centre CSI, the same qualified body for the compliance certification of several components adopted in F1, which has now certified its compliance with all limits imposed by Cik-Fia. The new silencer is available in two different versions. The first one has suction ducts with a diameter of 23 mm (model B23R) and is approved for the groups 1 and 2, while the second version has suction ducts with a diameter of 30 mm (model B30R) and is approved for the group 1 and for the Icc and Ice categories. Both models can be applied with the ramming or non-ramming air intake, simply through a 180 °C rotation of the suction half bearing. The new silencer complies with Free Line’s philosophy as well, combining the top-level technological research with an attractive look.
