APPROVAL OF BRAKING SYSTEMS
FREELINE AIMS AT HIGH LEVELS OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN
Freeline
has developed and approved new braking systems for the 100
and 125 classes that are both technically enhanced and appealing
in design. The new systems have been developed through several
bench tests and track testing by the Birel Motorsport racing
team. The end product guarantees success. Freeline's technical
staff entered the project with the goal of reducing the disc’s
rotating mass in all models while not sacrificing performance.
This particular design guarantees smooth contact between pads
and disc and, consequently, a more even wear of the pads themselves.
The configuration of the new Freeline discs also greatly improves
heat exchange, thus guaranteeing lower operative temperatures.
Even though the previous Freeline versions were among the
best in the market, particularly in the 125 classes, in which
they have always been one of the most efficient elements of
the Birel chassis, the braking power of the new system is
remarkably higher. Significant work has also been carried
out towards improving the efficiency of the caliper, which
guarantees a significantly higher rigidity of the system.
For the 100 classes, a front brake system has also been provided
utilizing two 150 mm. steel discs and calipers using 24 mm.
pistons. The rear brake's caliper uses 28 mm pistons, both
for the 100 cc and the 125 cc chassis.
