PRESS RELEASE

ACR CONFIRMS BIREL UK 2007 DRIVER LINE UP

UK Birel Importer ACR is pleased to announce its Birel UK driver line up for the 2007 season.

In JICA Alex Lynn is confirmed for his second season with ACR. 2006 was a learning year for Lynn son of classic racer Shaun with good progress shown in the latter part of the season. A sensational drive in the grand final in TV masters after a DNF in one of the heats gave Lynn the opportunity to show his true talent. Lynn will contest the S1 series plus some European events in 2007. His race engineer will continue to be Andy Paskin and his chassis will be the new Birel R31 SV with engines by GFR.

In ICA new graduate from Junior TKM Lindsay Butcher joins ACR. The Jewson backed driver finished 2nd in the 2006 S1 Junior TKM championship and will compete in ICA S1 and some European events in 2007. Pre season testing has gone well with Lindsay adjusting to ICA very well. “It’s a big jump and he has a lot to learn in a short period of time, but he’s committed and has a good technical ability, more importantly he’s fast! “commented team boss Andy Cox. Butcher will drive the Birel R31 SV with engines by GFR.

In FA Official Birel Motorsport driver Jamie Croxford will lead the U.K team. Due to his commitments with Birel in the European and World Championships the Northamptonshire ace will only contest five out of the six S1 rounds. “Jamie’s job will be to help the team’s younger drivers and bring us some race wins in FA, he has a real presence. Can he win the Championship? Litchfield won it in five rounds in 2003 didn’t he?!” commented boss Andy Cox. Croxford will drive the new Birel R31SV and RX32 SV.
