24 HOUR KARTING AND ENDURANCE BUSINESS KART SERIES 2008

BIREL PRESENTS ENDURANCE SEASON 2008

IN ADDITION TO THE 24-HOUR CLASSIC IN JESOLO, A CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE ORGANIZED IN THREE TESTS, IN WHICH THE NEW BIREL-SUBARU ENGINE WILL DEBUT.

Coordination Sport Event, Birel's agency which manages the home base of Lissone activities connected to Endurance karting, has officially revealed its plans for 2008. The most interesting piece of news is undoubtedly linked to the new Business Series, a championship in three tests which will compliment the 24-hour classic on the Jesolo track (joined with the 10th edition). In all of the scheduled races, as is tradition, the Birel kart N 35 will be provided by Birel Motorsport which, during the race, will also give centralized technical assistance for all teams. The Jesolo marathon and the Business Series will have two slightly different sections: The first will be a true "racing" event, where due to great demand, teams formed by experienced drivers will emerge, while the Business Series will have a more lucid format, with services aimed at a company and amateur target. These services will cover the development of Hospitality for the teams, catering service, supply of custom uniforms as well as an important communication plan with a televised summary and a magazine dedicated to the championship, edited at Birel's press office. In the Business Series, an important innovation will also be introduced from a technical point of view: the 4-stroke Subaru motor developed at the Birel motoring center, led by Carlo Boscolo. The new unit will guaranty a driving power of about 13 horses, and performance of 4/5 seconds per lap faster than the traditional Honda. From a format point of view the Series will provide two races of three hours each (Race 1 or Race 2), as well as a qualifying session with the Superopole formula. According to regulation, it will be necessary to designate three different drivers for the qualifier and the two departures. The starting grid for Race 2 will be drawn by reversing the order of arrival in Race 1, while the scores will be allocated based on the rankings of the qualifiers, and of the two races scheduled each weekend. Regarding the registration fee, participation in the 24-hour classic with a team of 6 to 10 drivers will cost 3,500 Euro + VAT (the race will be held with Honda 4t engines), while registration for the three Business series races (for a team of 3 - 6 drivers) will cost 9,900 Euro + VAT. Registration for both events, in any case, will be open starting January 21. For more information, contact the Organization Secretary at 039.2145204 or visit our website, coseonline.com
