BETTINI THE CYCLING CHAMPION AND HIS KART …. BIREL

The world cycling champion, Paolo Bettini, besides his passion for bicycles which has carried him to the top of his sport, has also always loved motors and speed.

This second passion of his and the simultaneous opening of a kartodrome in “his” Tuscan town of Cecina, encouraged him to make the great leap, putting himself at the steering wheel of a kart. His choice was quickly oriented on a Birel kart, following the footsteps of some of his fellow “centaurs” in the world of the Superbike.

Bettini asked to be able to personally visit the Birel factory and chose to begin his Hobby with a kart in the Easykart line, easier to manage in respect to a racing kart, which he will maybe try in the future. Not even 10 days passed from the time he received his Birel kart and the golden boy of cycling had already gone on the track in Cestina for his first spin, regardless of the wet track.

The champion’s comments were enthusiastic, “karting is an exceptional sport, both amusing and involving. The Easykart that I am using performs very well, but is also relatively easy to manage on the track. I am discovering a truly exciting world and that’s not to say that, in the future, I may also participate in some exhibition races, hopefully always with my friends at Birel.”
