Welcome to the official Birel S.p.A. website. In the name of Birel philosophy, which has always been targeted to customer service and technology, we have created a karting portal: the focus is on products, debates with engineers and drivers, reviews of tracks and information on the key issues of our sport. Birel is leader on the web, too.

  05/12/2002 - 2002 OPEN MASTERS - JESOLO - GAGGIANESI COMES IN FIRST IN F. A

The positive beginning of the championship experienced by Birel Motorsport is going on in Veneto as well. During the second race of Open Masters Championship run in Jesolo Davide Gaggianesi made up for his unlucky competition of Lonato and gained a deserved success, never questioned by all other drivers.

Wasserman and Pini came in after Birel driver, while the French pilot Guignet, winner in Lonato, did not qualify for the final. Also Michele Fanetti ran an excellent race in 100 Ica category and consolidated his leadership in the Championship coming in fourth in the final. On the contrary Francesco Laudato could not repeat the race run successfully in Lonato in 125 Icc category due to a clash that occurred at the starting line, causing a break in the radiator. Because of this stop he was relegated to the third position, but the pilot coming from Cava dei Tirreni intends to regain his leadership on the occasion of the next race in Corridonia. Regarding 125 Icc category, Viani and Azzolina run an unlucky race as well but in any case they had the opportunity of expressing their potential and excellent results during next competitions are expected from them.

In category 100 junior Marco Mapelli, ranking always among the best pilots for the whole weekend, could not gain a good result in the final, like Todeschini and Todisco, who will hopefully run an excellent race in Corridonia. For pilots belonging to FA and ICC classes the next competition will be in Ampfing on the occasion of the first race of the European Championship. Birel's colours will be supported by Gaggianesi, Gatto and Lumma in 100 FA category, while Laudato and Groppi will be the official pilots in 125 ICC category.
