Welcome to the official Birel S.p.A. website. In the name of Birel philosophy, which has always been targeted to customer service and technology, we have created a karting portal: the focus is on products, debates with engineers and drivers, reviews of tracks and information on the key issues of our sport. Birel is leader on the web, too.

06/30/2002 - 2002 CIK-FIA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FORMULA SUPER A - BIREL LEADS BOTH DRIVERS' AND CONSTRUCTORS' LEAGUES.

Quintarelli dominates both races and conquers the leadership of the drivers' league. The two Birel teams (Motorsport and Birel SpA) also occupy the first two positions in the constructors league.

The second trial of the Formula Super A World Championship, which was held at the beautiful Alaharma track in Finland, witnessed the triumph of the Birel colours. Ronnie Quintarelli completely stole the Finnish show by conquering first place in both races, but Birel's success was further enhanced by Marco Ardigò, Gianluca Beggio and Laurent Groppi's excellent performances, taking the two World Championship teams to first and second place in the constructors' league. Ronnie Quintarelli, who had already conquered the pole position in the opening race in Belgium, certainly looks in good shape and, thanks to the double success at Alaharma, is now at the top of the World Championship drivers' league, with a 22-point lead over Alessandro Manetti. Two more Birel drivers occupy the third and sixth positions: Gianluca Beggio, several times world champion, who conquered the fifth and the sixth position on the Finnish track, and Marco Ardigò, who came fourth in race 1 and second in race 2.

The excellent results of Birel Motorsport drivers Beggio and Ardigò take their team to the top of the constructors' league. Birel Spa, on the other hand, the team represented by Ronnie Quintarelli and French driver Groppi, is second, three points behind its cousin team. The Tony Kart and D.R -Crg teams follow in third and fourth place. The next appointment with the FSA World Championship is scheduled for the second week of August in Braga in Portugal. Ronnie Quintarelli will participate as the leader of the drivers' league and the Birel R 31/Tm duo as the kart to beat.

RACE 1

Alessandro Manetti, the winner of both the previous races held in Belgium, went out during the first lap. Ronnie Quintarelli immediately took over the leadership in front of Marko Asmer and Ardigò. The Crg divers Bakker and Bonetti also distinguished themselves, along with Gianluca Beggio, Byrne and Van Dam. Quintarelli's leadership was never questioned, but Ardigò, Asmer, Forè and Beggio hotly disputed the second and third positions. On the finishing line, the Estonian Tony Kart driver was second, whilst Marco Ardigò was overtaken by Davide Forè, to whom he left the third position during the very last lap. Beggio ended the race in fifth position, in front of Bakker and Bonetti..
