NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MONZA LINE
THE SERIES IS UPDATED WITH A
FURTHER 2 MODELS WITH CIK-FIA CERTIFICATION (ZY
32-A AND ZY 32-C) DESTINED FOR CATEGORIES KF AND
KZ. THEREFORE, TODAY THERE ARE 9 MODELS AVAILABLE
STARTING FROM THE YOUTH CATEGORIES ON UP TO THE
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES
The Monza chassis competition
program, managed directly by the Birel racing
department along with some external teams both
in the National and International arenas, allowed
for efficient development of the KF models (destined
for the single-brand lines) and KZ models (categories
with gearboxes).
In international competitions,
Giacomo Patrono was engaged in the development
of the KF version, participating in the principle
KF2 competitions, while Manuel Cozzaglio was committed
to a program completed by the KZ1. The result
of that commitment is the birth of two new chassis
which, starting in 2008, will be integrated in
the Monza line that already includes 7 models.
The two new karts were developed
for the top competitions and will be identified
by the initials ZY 32-A (category KF) and ZY 32-C
(category KZ).
They can be considered to be
an evolution of the respective ZX versions that,
however, will remain in production. The differences
mainly concern the technical specifications of
the pipes used to build the body: for the new
ZY models solutions offering more efficient performance
with medium-soft tyres and typical race track
conditions were chosen.
Moreover, the bearing support
flanges were modified with the introduction of
those made by Freeline, already used in the KF
and KZ Birel series. Such a solution in respect
to the ZX version permits further regulation of
the rear axle, among which is its height.
The two new models also include
some specific and functional International competition
solutions: for the ZY 32-A version, the front-end
spindle is the Freeline L 180 which allows for
the front brake casing, while both have the external
eccentric bushing to facilitate control as well
as magnesium rims.
The other models in the series
have remained basically the same with the two
versions ZX 32-A and ZX 32-C respectively found
in the two categories without and with gearbox
destined for the top competitions, 2 models developed
for the Rotax category, a promotional chassis
for the national and single-brand lines (ZR-30)
and two models for the very young in the 60 cc
Baby, Mini and Cadet lines (ZB-28 and ZC-28).
