PRESENTATION OF THE CHAMPIONS CUP ROME, OCTOBER 31ST –
NOVEMBER 1ST
CESETTI AND LANCASTER AT THE STARTLINE FOR BIREL
THIS EVENT WILL
TAKE THE INTERNATIONAL KARTING PROTAGONISTS ONTO THE STREETS
OF ROME. ALL THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS FIRMS WILL BE PRESENT WITH
THEIR TOP DRIVERS. THE RACE (UPON INVITATION) IS RESERVED
FOR CLASSES 100 ICA/J AND FORMULA A.
Brand new in the
world of karting: the Champions Cup. An event perfectly combining
competition and show, typical features specific of karting,
which are certainly going to be set off by such an exclusive
location as Rome’s prestigious EUR district. Karting
meets the crowd in the very heart of the Italian capital with
all its most famous protagonists. The organization coordinating
the project was able to attain the support of the most important
manufacturers and, above all, of the International Federation.
The event will be the occasion for an effective promotion
for karting, also thanks to the extensive media coverage provided
by the promoter. A TV production and the live broadcast in
many countries worldwide are on schedule, as well as several
reports by the specialized press. The classes admitted by
invitation to this 1st edition of the Champions Cup are the
100 Ica/J and the Formula A. The drivers at the startline
will be 22 for both classes. At Birel’s, the formation
ready to enter the arena in Formula A has already been selected,
with the introduction of Jon Lancaster, who is going to support
first driver Cesetti. This is going to be an absolute debut
in the top class for Lancaster, European vice-champion 2004
in the 100 Ica. European Champion Coletti is likely to be
the top driver in the 100 Ica Junior, along with two other
Birel Mgm Team drivers still to be chosen. Among the big names
on the list, World Champion Forè (Tony kart), Manule
Renaudie ( Pcr) and Thonon (Crg). For further information,
