WSK
– INTERNATIONAL SERIES – LONATO, 1ST JULY ROUND 5
VIGANO’,
CHAMPION IN KF3
THE MGM TEAM MAIN
RACE DRIVER ARRIVES 3RD IN RACE 1 AND WINS THE 2ND FINAL,
THUS CONQUERING THE KF3 TITLE, BEATING EITHER HARVEY AND KOUZKIN.
Among the KF3 title
challengers, Matteo Vigano had to close up points with those
in the eve favourites Harvey and Vainio (both in Maranello),
whereas he started almost equally to the Italian Kouzkin (Tony
Kart).
In order to obtain
the success, beating all direct competitors was a must and
earlier from rankings the pace of Vigano seemed quite reassuring
to this purpose.
But after an excellent
2nd place in the 1st eliminatory round, the race drivers from
Bergamo suffered from an electric problem in the 2nd round,
ending only 11th
In race 1 he started
from the 4th row and so had to close the gap with his competitors,
and above all with Kouzkin who sprinted from the 1st row.
The recovery was
immediate and the Mgm team pilot climbed up and ended 3rd,
preceded only by few tenths by Kouzkin and Favaro (however
obtaining better time improvements).
In race 1 we must
also underline the good performance of Kevin Ceccon, who arrived
5th behind the “black Jaguar” who preceded him
by only 90 thousandths.
In great evidence
also Lorenzo Camplese (6th) who still gets on with the Birel
chassis after his debut 15 days ago, as well as Riccardo Agostini,
who arrived 10th.
But the real masterpiece
was signed by Viganò in Race 2, where the race driver
from Bergamo obtained a clear success over Kouzkin and Favaro.
With this victory
the Birel pilot obtains the category title, the first important
KF3 prize assigned in this season.
We must stress
that Viganò is also the leader in the Open class and
will be the favourite in the European championship (selection
on July 15 and Final in Sarno on September 2).
But back to the
race in Lonato, a pretty good performance of Camplese, who
ended 6th registering excellent time improvements, while Ceccon
must content himself with a 9th place due to some set up problems.
Double success
of Tiene in KF2, where the title went to De Brander (3rd in
Race 1 and 5th in Race 2), capable of controlling the direct
competitor Tarancon who ended both Finals with a 2nd place.
In KF2 where the title had already been assigned bot victories
went to Piccini.
The next international
karting leg will be next July 15th with three regional selection
for the KF2 and KF3 European championship.
