COLLECTIVE TESTS Muro Leccese, 22-26 January

ALL OF THE TOP TEAMS ON THE RACE TRACK IN PREPARATION FOR THE 2008 SEASON

THE COLLECTIVE TESTS LINKED TO THE 2008 WSK SAW ALL OF THE BIG NAMES APPEAR ON THE TRACK; THOSE WHO WILL BE THE MAIN PLAYERS IN THE INTERNATIONAL SEASON IN THE KF1, KZ1, KF2 AND KF3 CLASSES. FOR BIREL MOTORSPORT THE OFFICIAL DEBUT OF TOMAN IN THE KF1 AND HARVEY IN THE KF2 WAS POSITIVE.

The Muro Leccese track hosted one of the first novelties of 2008: the collective tests for the WSK Series players.

It was therefore possible to have a taste of the most important motor championships, seeing who will be on the field in all of the international classes.

For many drivers it was the first outing with a new team, and in this case, the Birel house was particularly waiting for the young (16 years) Libor Toman in the KF1 and Jack Harvey in the KF2.

Neither of them were a disappointment, working with great commitment every day of the tests in which, besides always coming in the top 5 in their category, they demonstrated a heightened aptitude in the test, trying various solutions both with their engines (lame for both) and their chassis.

Even for the Swiss, Amberg, debuting in the KF2, the first outing with Birel Motorsport was definitely positive, as with Mich (KZ1) who, however, had already worked in close contact with the Birel racing department during the 2007 World Cup.

In the KZ1, Laudato also brought attention to himself. Despite having lost a day because of illness, he earned 2nd place overall in the category.

In the KF1, in every day of testing, Sauro Cesetti put himself constantly at the top with TM motors, while in the KF2 (also with TM motors), Giacomo Patrono, with a Monza chassis, performed various trials seeking performance reliability especially from the racing point of view.

Besides the official team the tests also saw the presence of all of the external Birel teams that tested the latest motor and chassis developments in the SE-2008 line.

The indications were excellent in all classes. In the KF3 for the KSB team, Riccardo Agostini and Marc Aurel Coleselli quickly rose to the top, as did Basz and Viganò (MGM) in the KF2.

More information on the Muro Leccese tests is available on the website wskarting.com. The next track appointments for the International karting circus were postponed to February 17 at the Lonato track where they will race for the Winter Cup.

For all insiders it will be the opportunity to have the first judgement of their winter work.
