EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FA/SICC/ICC - ANGERVILLE 12-15/05/2005
176
COMPETITORS HAVE ENTERED THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
[05-06] - The Angerville circuit,
near Paris opening the dancing of the CIK-FIA European Formula
A, Super-ICC and ICC Championship on 12-15 May 2005.
In all, some 176 competitors have
entered the European Championship; they will be divided up
as follows: 71 in Formula A, 26 in Super-ICC and 79 in ICC.
A total of 23 nations will be represented.
The ICC will beat its own record
of entries thanks to several appealing elements such as well-tried
technical regulations, engines reputed to be long-lasting,
controlled cost and single-make tyres supplied free of charge
for the race further to the proposal from Bridgestone in answer
to the invitation to tender issued by the CIK FIA! Italy and
France are the most broadly represented nations, respectively
with 25 and 16 drivers.
In the Super-ICC the Italian Ennio
Gandolfi, winner of the Super-ICC World Cup in 2004, is the
favourite and some of his strongest opponents will be his
compatriots Francesco Laudato, Alessandro Piccini, Roberto
Toninelli and Manuel Cozzaglio.
The top category of Karting, Formula
A, gathers the upper crust of drivers and teams. In the absence
of the title-holder, Nick de Bruijn, the battle for the European
crown promises to be very fiere between seasoned Formula A
drivers and younger drivers who have learnt the ropes in ICA.
Facing the most experience competitors such as Davide Forè,
Arnaud Kozlinski, Manuel Renaudie, Martin Plowman, Sauro Cesetti,
Ben Hanley or Gary Catt, the up-and-coming generation has
no intention of letting itself be overawed. It will be led
by the winning tiercè of the 2004 European ICA Championship,
i.e. the french driver Kevin Estre, Britain’s Jon Lancaster
and the Dutchman Henkie Waldschmidt. |
