STARS OF KARTING - AUSTIN, TEXAS (FINAL) – OCTOBER 13TH-16TH
SPEED AND BIREL
ONCE MORE CHAMPIONS
THANKS TO ALEX SPEED,
BIREL DOMINATES THE 125 ICC CLASS IN THE U.S. TOO.
The weekend in Austin, Texas, closed
the racing season of the Stars Federation. At stake were the
titles of all the categories, among them the 125 Icc, now
the queen class in the United States, too. Birel has always
played a leading role also in America, and after Boswell’s
victory in 2003 and Alex Speed’s success in the past
season, Birel red is the winning colour in the Icc once again.
Alex Speed mastered the gear-box class, thus confirming once
more Birel’s supremacy. In fact, the most important
American title, comes on top of the honours reaped in the
course of the exceptional 2005 season by Francesco Laudato
(European and World Championship titles). Speed was sure about
his victory already on Saturday, when his chief opponent Wiegland
went off track. A 3rd place in the Finals (won by David Jurca)
was therefore already sufficient for the Mrp Team driver,
arriving ahead of his team-mates Boswell (4th) and Phinny
(6th). In the Ica category, the victory went to Giebler, while
Jacob Neal was first in the Ica/Junior. The Austin weekend
included also the Easykart single-brand trophy, won by Freile
Jr. The complete results list and the account of the event
are available at www.ekartingnews.com
