BIREL DRAWS THE ATTENTION AT OTTOBIANO

THE CHASSIS MADE BY THE HOUSE OF LISSONE WIN IN ALL CLASSES (JUNIOR –ICA AND SENIOR), BY CONQUERING 4 FINALS OUT OF 6 AS WELL AS ALL POLE POSITIONS.

The 2nd rendezvous of the Italian National championship for classes 100cc took place from 2nd to 4th June on the track of Ottobiano (Milan). For Birel this occasion confirmed the success of its chassis in the classes with no change in speed, thanks to 4 wins out of 6. In the 100 Junior Kevin Ceccon (Birel-Gandolfi team) climbed to the top of the podium in Race 1; Paolo De Conto also did very well (3rd place). Gianassi (6th), Beretta (8th) and Cucco (10th) also finished the race among the top ten. In Race 2 Ceccon was obliged to withdraw, whereas De Conto successfully finished in 2nd place (and this allowed him to climb to 3rd place in the Championship tables), behind the winner, Camplese. Beretta (7th), Gianassi (9th) and Cucco (10th) also gave a very good performance, the latter gaining pole position on Saturday. In the 100 Ica the leading figure was Giacomo Patrono (Birel-Mgm team), who gained pole position on Saturday, won two legs out of three and went on to win Race 1. Birel’s driver also did very well in Race 2, finishing in 2nd place behind Chiesa. Patrono is now 5th in the championship tables, 12 points behind the leader, Lombardo. In the Senior on the other hand Luca Casazza (Birel-Mgm team) gained pole position and two straight victories. In the championship Laguardia is ahead, although Casazza climbed to 2nd place and is ready to fight for the title at the next rendezvous, which will be held in Siena on 2nd July.
