PRINCIPE’S RETURN TO BIREL

[06/07/06] Francesco Principe, leading figure of the class 125 Icc, terminated his co-operation with Brm to go back to Birel’s colours with which, in the past seasons, he had raced internationally with very good results. The Italian driver will be managed by the Ferragina Team and will be followed by Birel’s management in anticipation of 2007, when he will be able to take part in a more complete professional programme. Having completed the 1st race of this year’s European Championship with Brm, the Italian driver cannot in fact carry on taking part in the remaining races with his new team. He will therefore take part in the Italian Open Championship and in the International Wsk series. The driver explained the reasons behind his change of team: “The beginning of the season was well below my expectations, probably also because of the difficulties the team had in managing various drivers and several professional programmes. For this reason going back to Birel, an important house whose working methods I am well acquainted with, seemed the most suitable choice. I regret not being able to take part in the European Championship, but I am also very determined to perform well in the Open in preparation for the next season.”
