FA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP –100 ICA WORLD CUP ANGERVILLE
(FRANCE), 28TH SEPTEMBER/ 1ST OCTOBER
BIREL’S
DRIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE THE PROTAGONISTS
GREAT RESULTS
IN THE TESTS BOTH IN FA AND IN THE 100 ICA. QUINTARELLI ALSO
SPORTS BIREL’S COLOURS.
The top event of the karting season,
the FA World Championship, will be held on 1st October on
the track at Angerville. All the big names of this category
will take part to try and win the title. For the drivers this
title can open all doors of motor racing, whereas for the
car-makers this is a very important event in terms of prestige
and market. This promises to be a high profile event and,
once again, Birel’s drivers will play a major part.
During the last trials held on the French track, both Cesetti
and Lancaster were positively impressed by the efficiency
of the last technical developments. And to add to the strength
of Birel’s drivers, Ronnie Quintarelli will also be
on the track sporting the colours of Birel Motorsport; thanks
to his vast experience, Quintarelli will be one of the favourites.
The Venetian driver, who is engaged in Formula Nippon in Japan,
has endured long trial sessions with the support of Birel
Pacific and was very impressed by the Birel 2006 chassis.
The official team’s drivers are also eagerly awaiting
to see how Jon Lancaster, the young talented British driver
who in the next season will be among the protagonists of the
European Championship of Formula 3, is going to do. Sauro
Cesetti is still the top driver, both because he personally
promoted the development of the 100cc chassis, and for the
special feeling he has always had with the French track. Risitano
is also keen on the French track and will undoubtedly try
to redeem his on and off performances of this season. Pf International’s
duo of Lichtfield and Croxford should also be followed: following
a great European Championship, both drivers can aim at success.
Always for Birel, the Japanese driver Hattori, who was one
of the main protagonists of the Japanese season, should also
be followed with interest. The most likely opponents to the
Birel’s team will be Ardigò, Forè, Bianchi,
Thonon and Christensen. This will undoubtedly be an unmissable
event for all karting enthusiasts. And for those who will
not be able to attend the event at the track near Paris, this
will be broadcast live by Eurosport 2 on Sunday afternoon,
starting from 14:00 and can also be seen on the website cikfia.com
Another reason the French race should be followed is the World
Cup reserved to the Teams: each car-manufacturer must rely
on a couple of drivers to win the title. Birel chose Cesetti
and Lancaster. As well as the FA World Championship, the World
Championship of 100 ICa will be held, another prestigious
race with many noteworthy claimants. As far as Birel is concerned,
Wittmann is the favourite: after having missed the European
Championship of the category because of going off track, the
German driver wants to redeem himself more than anything else.
But Truelove, Vanthoor, Burkhard and Patrono also have excellent
chances as far as Birel is concerned. The most redoubtable
opponents will be the new European champion Nolè, Tambay,
Fontner, Abbasse and Lucie Panackova. |
