2006
FORMULA A – MACAU INTERNATIONAL KART GRAND PRIX
BIREL ON
THE PODIUM WITH THE JAPANESE PILOT ISHI
THE LAST COMPETION
OF THE SEASON SEES BIREL COLOURS STILL PROTAGONISTS, EVEN
IF CESETTI AND WITTMANN HAVE BEEN PENALIZED BY SOME TECHNICAL
TROUBLES.
Macau course played
the final appointment at home of the long 2006 season for
the protagonists of Formula A, the queen International Karting
class. From next year the Asian competition will be valid
as Asia – Pacific Championship, becoming more important
in a market that is now showing a strong dynamism. The aim
of all pilots at the start was that of leaving a mark in the
last trials of the season that, among other things, confronted
with FA motors for the last time in their career: in fact
from 2007 international competitions will see the arrival
of the new “Long Life” motors. Birel team was
represented by the “Official pilots” Cesetti and
Wittmann (at their début in FA), along with Asian pilots
Ishi and Hattori, all of them highlighted ever since the rounds.
The most undoubtedly effective was Sauro Cesetti who gained
the first row for the Pre-Final.
Even Wittmann performed really well and so did Ishi. Unfortunately,
however, either in the Pre-Final or in the Final a motor technical
trouble stopped both Cesetti and Wittmann. But despite their
withdrawal, Cesetti positively comments his experience: “we
had important confirmations of the competitiveness of some
chassis evolutions that, like in the World Championship in
France, confirmed to be very efficacious. As to the motor
troubles, we still have to understand what happened, but it
is certain that, since it is the last trials before the introduction
of new motors, the trouble is a relative one”. On the
other hand, the one among Birel’s pilots who had the
chance to celebrate is the Japanese pilot Kazuya Ishi, excellent
third place in the Final behind Chrisetnsen and Calado. The
Japanese pilot comments his performance as follows: “
I am happy I used the chassis and I am sure that, next season
we will do an excellent job. I did not think I would be able
to wrestle like pilots such as Thonon, Ardigò and Calado,
but I am especially happy I was able to go ahead Nojiiri in
this important competition, who, in 2006, won the Japanese
title”. International karting is going on holiday right
now, waiting to go back to the racing track with ordinary
trials of the season opening, when, the main interest will
be that of finding out the competitiveness degree achieved
by various motorists with "Long Life" new unities.
