CIK - FIA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP (KF1 - KZ1 - KZ2)
LIGHTS
AND SHADES FOR THE BIREL TEAM
UNLUCKY COZZAGLIO AND CESETTI: THE FIRST, AUTHOR
OF THE POLE, HAS AN ACCIDENT AT START OF COMPETITION 1, WHILE
CESETTI HAS SOME PROBLEMS OF MOTOR AFTER HAVING DISPUTED QUALIFICATIONS
AND MANCHE AT BEST.
They pick up less as they would have deserved the Birel pilots
in the weekend which has opened the European Championship
of the classes KF1, KZ1 and KZ2. Sauro Cesetti immediately
highlighted in the queen class marking the 2nd time in qualification,
for then to get a success and a 2° place in the manches
of qualification. The marchigiano, the best pilot among the
motorized Iames, has gained therefore the start in 1st line
for Competition 1 beside Ardigò. Positive also Croxford
who, after having marked the 11th time in qualification (1st
among the pilots with motor Tm), has closed a manche among
the first ones, while in the 2nd he has been forced to the
withdrawal for a technical problem. At start of Competition
1 immediately a cold shower for Cesetti: the motor accuses
a technical problem and after three difficult turns he parks
on side racetrack his kart (the drawback could been caused
by the gasoline). Unfortunately also it goes bad for Croxford
who remains involved in a contact to the 1st lap. The English
will continue, but he will close the competition out of points
zone. Instead, the other English in competition with the Birel
colors obtains some points: Jason Parrot. The pilot of the
Mgm team is 8th . The success goes to Ardigò who precedes
Convers and Christensen. In Competition 2 Cesetti doesn't
succeed in resolving his problems of motor and he doesn't
enter in points zone. The feat succeeds, instead, to Jaime
Croxford who closes to the 14th place. Better once more the
countryman Parrot who finishes in 7th position. The success
goes again to Ardigò who precedes Convers lengthening
in general classification. Also in KZ1 the gotten results
were inferior to the expectations and to the potential emerged
in the day of Saturday. To recriminate, is particularly Manuel
Cozzaglio, who, after having gotten the pole and the 3rd position
to the start of Competition 1 thanks to good manches, he has
been involved in an exit of racetrack to the start. With every
probability it was a contact with Iglesias to put ko the bresciano,
also penalized by the new procedure of "Slow" in
case of accidents. In fact, once taken back the racetrack,
Cozzaglio has maintained a too elevated pace to reach the
group, being excluded therefore from the competition. The
success has gone therefore to Manetti, while the French Mich
has brought the 1st Birel to the 4th place. Francis Laudato,
instead, also closing the competition behind the first ones
marking the 2nd fast turn of the competition, he has not gone
over the 8th place. He will do better in Competition 2 where
it conquers the 5th place. Cozzaglio also goes up again very
well in Competition 2 who, started last, gets a positive 6th
place really behind Laudato. Still positive also Mich who
finishes in 8th position. Unfortunately for the Birel pilots
the victory still goes to Manetti who, substantially, mortgages
the championship which will be knock down on 3 results profits
in the context of the two scheduled competitions. But nevertheless
the competitiveness of Cozzaglio Monza loom has certainly
impressed and, in the go on of season, it will know how to
guarantee to the bresciano the possibility to aspire to important
results.
