2007 OPEN MASTERS, JESOLO 18TH – 20TH MAY

3RD ROUND IN JESOLO

GREAT SHOW BY BIREL’S DRIVERS IN THE PRE-RACE TRIALS – THEY WILL BE IN THE LINE FOR SUCCESS IN ALL THE CATEGORIES.

For every Kart enthusiast, the ‘Azzurra’ track of Jesolo is synonymous with great events, duels and important victories for the most successful names of our sport. In the past in particular champions such as Senna, Hakkinen, Patrese and Mike Wilson, who is currently Birel’s manager, have raced on this track and made karting history. Next weekend international karting returns to the Calzavara family’s track for the 3rd test of the Open championship, an event which, thanks to the importance of the participating teams and drivers, represents the top in the world of karting. As usual the races will take place on Sunday afternoon and will be broadcast live on Rai Sat, whereas the results (already the ones relative to the qualifying heats) will be available in real time on our internet site. It will be worth following Birel’s drivers in all categories, from the KF3 (formerly Junior) to the top category (KF1). The pre-race trials gave positive results, confirming the high competitiveness of the chassis from Lissone, which adapted very well to the specific characteristics of the track. In the KF3 Matteo Viganò will once again be the favourite at the start and is more than ever determined to reach the top of the provisional tables. Also worthy of notice are the drivers from the Easykart driver program Agostini and Francescon, both from Veneto, who will also have great familiarity with the track. Following his double success at Ugento, everyone also has great expectations for the driver from Bergamo Ceccon. In KF2 Mario Turchetto, having just achieved success at Ugento, will be after an encore; Libor and De Conto, the drivers from the KSB team, will also be aiming for victory. In KF1 last week’s trials highlighted the constant progress of the Tm engine which, with the British driver Croxford, achieved very significant times. Also very positive is the work carried out by Cesetti who at Jesolo will try to achieve his first success of the season. Manuel Cozzaglio on the other hand has already won and has shown himself able to do it again in the category KZ2: the driver from Brescia, racing with the new Monza chassis, achieved record times and will be one of the drivers to watch for the whole weekend. As usual the multi-winner Francesco Laudato will also be among the big names. The weekend’s programme includes the qualifying heats and the preliminary legs during Saturday, then two races (Race 1 and Race2) for each category on Sunday.
