COZZAGLIO AND LAUDATO PROTAGONISTS OF KZ1

COZZAGLIO (BRESCIA) WINS RACE 2, WHILE LAUDATO IS 2nd IN RACE 1 (THOUGH RELEGATED FOR FALSE START) AND 2nd IN RACE 2. ALSO THE FRENCH MICH IN EVIDENCE.

The French weekend awarded Manetti, 3rd in Race 1 confident of the double win in Ugento, with the title of the KZ1. But above all it has highlighted either Manule Cozzaglio and Francesco Laudato. In the first final the success went to Thonon who preceded Francesco Laudato and the French of the team Birel-MGT Mich. But after the race Laudato was penalized with 10” for moving from the starting line earlier and was therby relegated to the 11th final position. Mich moved then to the 2nd place, while Manetti to the 3rd therby conquering arithmetically the title, which differently from the KF1 and KZ2 was given after only 2 tests. Tonelli arrived 4th, while Manuel Cozzaglio with the Monza chassis came 5th before Iglesias. In Race 2 Mich sprints bad from the 1st row ending up to the 5th place, but it will take him few time to lead the race again giving the impression that he can win definitively the race. The French lead the race driving a queue with Toninelli, Iglesias, Thonon, Cozzaglio and Laudato all very close, when during lap 11 he was baldly attacked by his nearest track riders. The result has been a collision that eliminated not only the French of the Birel team but also Thonon, Toninelli and Iglesias. Cozzaglio took the lead, who till the arriving, preceded his team mate Laudato, with which he achieved a positive and motivating double win for the Birel Motorsport. Geurts arrived 3rd preceding Rangues. In KF1 an objective superiority of the Vortex motors has been confirmed. They allowed Marco Ardigò to easily gain the success either in Race 1 and in Race 2. The runner from Brescia preceded his team mate Gary Catt in both races thus confirming is position as champion a race earlier. A Vortex motor obtained the 3th step of the podium in Race 1 with Bollingtof, while Janson Parrott (Birel-Mgm team) was the first lame driver gaining the 4th place. Piccioni ended the race 5th before Casetti, Christensen, Varutti and Kozlinski. A technical problem, whereas, forced Croxford out of the race. In Race 2 Parrott was again in evidence and went on the podium conquering the 3rd place behind Ardigò and Catt. The English was successful in the hard fight that showed 6 drivers who got ahead of each another in order to conquer the last step of the podium. Among them Bollingtoft and Calaso who obtained the 4th and 5th place, while Cesetti ended 6th preceding Piccioni, Kozlinski, Puhakka and Forè. Double Success in KZ2 for Santolini who preceded Dreezen in both races. On the podium of Race 1 also Cane who preceded Birel’s standard bearer Valente, while in Race 2 again from the Birel we must underline the good performance of the Italian Valloni who ended 8th.
