TESTED DURING ENDURANCE ROUNDS
Since 2000, that is since the birth of
the project N 35-X, the organization of
Birel group managing Endurance rounds
have been using during competitions the
new frame designed for renting activities,
totalling in 4 years over 400 running
hours. Over 30 crews are present at the
starting grid of each round and many of
them are composed by very beginners. Thanks
to this feature, the material tested during
the competitions, besides running hundreds
of kilometres, was used stressing and
straining badly all safety and structural
resistance devices installed on the kart.
The functionality of the adjustable pedal
and of the driving set-up passed the trials
carried out during rounds as well, and
of course they proved to be useful to
improve many details and to make them
more and more functional and effective.
The experience on racing tracks was also
essential to develop one of the most innovative
aspects characterizing the kart N 35-X,
that is to say the new pods.
During the first competitive seasons
standard pods were adopted, which were
not particularly protective as far as
rims, spindles, axles and mechanical parts
in general were concerned. Since the introduction
during agonistic competitions of the pods
installed on the version for rent, the
damages suffered by mechanical parts have
been almost cancelled. The rims and the
spindles are protected as well as the
frame and even the pods reached unexpected
levels of resistance. It is enough to
clean the kart carefully to restore its
original conditions.
